My Story
Allison found her love of nonprofits through an assortment of public relations and event planning assignments early in her career at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), Largo Cultural Center, and Suncoast Girl Scout Council. While at LLS, chapters across the nation took notice of Allison’s web strategies and began requesting training for their local staff. She also served on the board for the Boys & Girls Clubs and the Chamber of Commerce of Mount Olive in North Carolina.

Allison also draws on her experiences in the for-profit sector. She served as the Communications Specialist at Carolina Turkeys, one of the world’s largest food processing companies, where she facilitated experiential leadership training courses, and served as the company liaison for the surrounding community.

Allison gained her graphics and journalism background while serving with Val-Pak Direct Marketing Systems and The Tampa Tribune, Highlands Today, The Pilot, and The Robesonian newspapers. She also served for 4 years as graphics editor of the SWS Newsletter, an international sociology journal.

Allison grew up in Brandon, Florida and holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she fell in love with the small surrounding town, its Native American culture, and the people. Currently, she resides in Oak Ridge, Tennessee with her husband, Jimmy, and their Golden Retriever, Daisy.
